The Painting of Life through Light

Segovia, Spain

One outstanding monument of Segovia is the Roman Aqueduct of Segovia. It was a very cold morning, and I could feel the chill of the wind as I walk up to the aqueduct. Admiring the sheer size of the stone construct, I ventured into the shops and narrow streets leading up to the Segovia Cathedral and Alcazar of Segovia, a castle perched on the top of a hill. As I walk through the street from the aqueduct, through the marketplace where fruits and clothes are sold, and the short stroll to the castle, I tried to imagine what life would be years ago, living in a city like this fortified by a castle nearby. Did I mention, that this old city of Segovia and its aqueduct is among the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites? – HL
