The Painting of Life through Light

Casares, Spain

When I saw the photos of Casares, I was thinking whether it was a photo from Greece, near the region of Santorini. The houses were white in color, perched on the hillsides, and look simply amazing. Then another photo of the town of Casares appear on the cover of the Lonely Planet book on Spain, and that was a sign for me to visit the white townships of Casares. To my dismay, the weather for the time I was there was not optimal. The sun was hiding behind clouds for most part of the day, and I was desperate for a sliver of light from the sky, to brighten up the whites of these nice little houses. I was thankful for the minutes when the sky broke open with rays of lights from the heavens to brighten up the town. Despite the weather, I had a nice lunch with loved ones at the lookout point, and strolled the streets of this quiet little white town for the later part of the day. – HL
