The Painting of Life through Light

Barcelona Set No. 1, Spain

Barcelona is a vibrant and happening city, even more so than the historic city of Madrid (in my opinion, of course). During my stay in Barcelona, I had the opportunity to visit the works of  Antoni Gaudí, a famous Catalan architect. Also highly recommended is the city tour bus, operated by the tourism agency of Barcelona. If you still have spare cash for a shopping spree or two, then head down to the Port Vell – La Rambla – El Raval – La Ribera – Plaça de Catalunya – Barri Gòtic – Montjuïc stretch for a fun time of trying on new clothes and apparels. One evening, I had the opportunity to chill out on the roof terrace of the Hotel 1898 from dusk to sunset, and it was a wonderful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the La Rambla street below. Just order a couple of F&B such as the fried rice with lemon grass, and a hot cup of espresso or cappucino to boot, and you are ready to chill in the evening breeze. Blankets are provided for free, so you and your loved ones are warm and cosy, watching the sun go down. – HL
